Windows XP: Printer Preference

Today I get little problem but sucked: I can't print to Xerox FX DocuPrint C1110 on my LAN. It complaints that I try to print on 'Letter' paper while its paper loaded is 'A4' and I set my Excel print page setup is A4 too.Whew...

A friend of mine suggest me to set printer preferences.
-Go to Start
-Select Printers and Faxes
-Find printer to be set, Xerox DocuPrint on my case, right click chose Print Preferencces
- I set A4 paper size.
-Click OK to save and close windows configuration

Microsoft Office family Word, Excel, Outlook usually will use Letter paper size as default (perhaps this is US standard/common document form). I don't why this my Excel always send 'Letter ' even I set it to A4 on Office Printing Page Setup.
