GnuCash is a free acounting software with many features. GnuCash also has capabilities to import from others accounting format such Microsoft Money .qif file.
First time you run GnuCash, a wizard will guide set up your account with common setting. I suggest you to follow as instruction below, and get your self familiar with its interface later to. This common account is your income source (ie: salary, bonus, interests), assets (ie: saving account in bank), liabilities (ie: credit card).

I set master currency to IDR (Indonesian Rupiah) |

GnuCash support PostgrSQL, MySql, Sqlite3 and xml for storage. I suggest you save it as Sqlite3 if you are not familiar with MySql and PostgreSQL. However, MySql and PostgreSQl are best choices for data integrity. |
Our initial set up is done, our account is ready. Next, I add my bank account as saving account.

Add your bank name, and set currency according to your saving currency (IDR in my case) |

Click Opening balance tab, I have IDR 1400000 in my Bank Danamon account. |

Our bank account is listed in Assets, and my saving as opening balance. |
