-click gear icon on top-right section,
-select labs, scroll down to view Preview Pane
-thick enable to enable it
-save your new setting, you will be brought back to Gmail home page.
Select vertical split to view your email in Outlook-style.
Although this is not an innovation, Yahoo and Hotmail do it earlier, but Gmail user now may chose better and more comfortable way to read and arrange email.
